SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYST

The role of Social Media Analyst is a full-time position working with key digital accounts. The right person for this role will have experience successfully developing and implementing paid advertising campaigns and organic strategies on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Candidates must have a minimum of one year’s experience including campaign development, launch, management, optimization, analytics/reporting and client communications.

SEM Strategist

Hearst Digital Agency – Albany, NY

The SEM Strategist will work with our existing Search Engine Marketing team to provide strategic SEM services for our clients. The SEM Strategist will be responsible for researching, identifying and implementing emerging SEM trends and tactics.

This role will manage all aspects of day to day SEM strategy for clients. As part of the Search Engine Marketing Team, this individual will create new campaigns, develop targeted keyword lists, conduct bid management and optimization, develop advertising creative, prepare reports and analyze landing pages and keyword copy in support of advertiser goals. Confidence, accountability and action-oriented attitude and habits are keys to success.

Success metrics will be based on growth in overall qualified PPC traffic and conversions for a specific customer base.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops keyword lists and ad copy for search campaigns.
  • Builds and launches SEM campaigns within Google Adwords and Microsoft Ad Center.
  • Creates new paid search campaigns utilizing various internal Web-based systems.
  • Designs, builds and analyzes effectiveness of landing pages used in search engine marketing campaigns.
  • Performs quality assurance prior to launching campaigns to ensure accuracy of campaigns.
  • Makes campaign, ad copy and keyword optimization changes based on analyzing key performance indicators such as CPC, CPL, and CTC.
  • Provides monthly updates to clients regarding performance of SEM campaigns and communicates regularly with clients to discuss metrics and trends.
  • Performs campaign budget stewardship to ensure campaigns are managed efficiently and target CPLs are achieved.
  • Performs in depth keyword research and strategic analysis.
  • Performs competitive keyword and strategic analysis.
  • Recommends website content and layout suggestions for better user experience and lead conversion.
  • Implements lead tracking systems.
  • Monitors and implements new and emerging trends in SEM.
  • Recommends changes in methods to increase traffic to websites.
  • Contributes to the company SEM blog.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A BA/BS Degree preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in a professional environment. Experience with Search Engine Marketing (Pay per click) is preferred. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

The incumbent/candidate must have a detailed work ethic, be highly motivated, well organized and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individual customers, as well as all levels of employees. Candidate must have solid time management and written/oral communication skills. Computer skills are required for this position. Mastery of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint needed. A strong understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, server side data and PHP is preferred but not required. Knowledge and experience with Google Adwords and Microsoft Ad Center is preferred but not required. Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and resources are required.

Digital Account Manager

DIGITAL ACCOUNT MANAGER

The role of Digital Account Manager is a full-time position working with our Senior Digital Account Management team, addressing any digital marketing based needs they might have, consulting with them on digital marketing strategies and ultimately executing campaigns with their end goals in mind. The right person for this position will have at least one year of experience managing digital accounts that include digital marketing and web development. The Digital Account Manager role is a hands-on position that may include tasks such as digital proposals/recommendations, strategy direction and more. The Digital Account Manager will play a key role in facilitating clear communications, ensuring smooth and efficient work flows and ultimately maintaining positive, profitable relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist the Senior Digital Account Management team in management of client relationships for all digital marketing channels including web development, SEO, SEM, SMM, display, mobile, email and reputation management.
  • Work with the Senior Digital Account Management team to effectively manage day-to-day client needs.
  • Work with the Senior Digital Account Management team to analyze key account campaign metrics including calls, form fills, CTR’s, ROI and KPI’s to ensure active campaigns are running smoothly. Duties could include but would not be limited to:  Lead assessment:  Listening to phone calls and checking form information to identify trends, opportunities and challenges. Monitoring each channel’s results to compare to channel and industry averages.  Identifying issues with campaigns and seeking solutions to those issues.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly client facing reporting decks as well as ad hoc requests for campaign reports.
  • Assist the Senior Digital Account Management team in creating/editing proposals and onboarding decks as needed.
  • Assist the Senior Digital Account Management team in set up and Q/C of digital marketing campaigns prior to their live dates to ensure smooth transitions to live campaigns. Duties may include but not be limited to placing and checking pixels, testing lead generation forms, checking tracking numbers, spell checking landing pages and ad copy.
  • Be available to answer staff questions about digital marketing products and/or details on active campaigns.
  • Identify and make formal strategy recommendations for active Times Union digital accounts.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • One year of experience in digital account management directly interfacing with clients
  • Mid-level understanding of web design process, SEO, SEM, SMM, display advertising and analytics.
  • Ability to use web metrics to power optimization suggestions and consultation strategies
  • Exceptional organization and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of basic html a plus
